Job Description 

Role Summary and Strategic Impact

The Senior Plumbing and Mechanical Draftsman will support the Project Management and Field Teams by leading the development of highly accurate, constructable fabrication and shop drawings. The focus of this role is to use strong technical drafting skills and field knowledge to translate design models into precise documents that drive efficiency in the field and the prefabrication shop. This role requires extensive coordination experience and technical leadership.


Core Responsibilities


I. BIM Drafting and Fabrication Modeling

  • Develop and maintain accurate Revit models and shop drawings for plumbing and mechanical systems.

  • Translate engineer and consultant models into fabrication-ready documents.

  • Create spool sheets, isometrics, hanger, and sleeve drawings for field and prefab use.

  • Support prefabrication and installation teams by producing precise, buildable drawings.

  • Maintain company drawing standards and mentor junior drafting staff.

II. Coordination and Project Support

  • Coordinate with project managers and field foremen for field changes and constructability.

  • Participate in BIM coordination meetings and resolve clashes using Revit/Navisworks.

  • Maintain accurate drawing logs and ensure version control is managed across projects.

III. Technical and Leadership Support

  • Provide technical support and expertise to junior drafting staff.

  • Review and approve drawings before distribution to ensure adherence to standards and constructability requirements.

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of BIM/Drafting workflows and standards.


Compensation and Benefits (Wichita Falls, TX)

  • Base Salary Range: $105,000 - $125,000 per year.

  • Relocation: Assistance Offered.

Requirements

Required Qualifications and Competencies

  • Experience: Minimum of 7+ years of experience drafting plumbing and mechanical systems for an MEP subcontractor or design-build contractor.

  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Autodesk Revit MEP; Navisworks and AutoCAD experience a plus.

  • Industry Knowledge: Strong knowledge of plumbing, piping, and HVAC systems and construction methods.

  • Drafting Ability: Ability to produce fabrication-level shop drawings for prefab and field use.

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.

  • Key Traits: Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills. Must be highly organized, reliable, and Collaborative
